Episode One Hundred And Ninety Five – On Profs And Pints At The Perth Fringe Festival

As promised at the event! With many thanks to SciTech’s Renae Sayers for allowing me to record the show, the whole SciTech and backstage team for helping make this happen.

The Profs and Pints Fringe World show was sold out on the 10th February, but I was given the opportunity to record the live show. The Storify of the Tweets that featured on the Tweetwall can be found at: https://storify.com/kyliesturgess/fringe-world-profs-and-pints

Here’s the details of what went down:

SCIENCE SMACKDOWN: Why my idea for the future is better than yours.
What will our future look like? And how will we use science to crack the frontier issues facing the fabrics of our society? Join Perth’s top thinkers as they explore evidence-based decisions in this crazy knee-jerk world.

Speakers:
* Renae Sayers | Host – SciTech Perth
• Josh Richards | MarsONE Candidate
• Dr Brad Pettitt | Mayor, City of Fremantle
• Alan Lindsay | Managing Director, VUE group
• Sarah Young | Comedian, Playwright

Pulling on the cream of the Perth scientific crop, its informal (we welcome the ‘Pints’ part just as much as the ‘Profs’), but informative (we want everyone’s brain-juice switched on and topped up), and most importantly, interactive (all about the meaningful exchange, in person or #profsandpints). Hopefully no shoes are thrown.

Produced by Scitech and supported by Inspiring Australia, this event is part of FRINGE WORLD 2015.
